A silicon bronze CuSi3Mn1 which can be cold worked to enhance the mechanical properties. It is a high strength, engineering alloy that has excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosives, including fresh and salt water, most acids, alkalies, salts, and organic chemicals. However, it is not suitable for use with sulphides, nitric acid, acid chromates, or oxidizing salts such as ferric chloride. The alloy conforms to ASTM B 96 C65500 and ASTM B 98 C65500.
