Key Features

A high copper alloy, single phase silicon bronze. The alloy can be cold worked to increase the strength and can be supplied in a range of tempers. The addition of silicon and manganese not only improves the strength but also increase the corrosion resistance.

Typical Uses

General engineering: The combination of high tensile and good ductility combined with excellent corrosion resistance makes this alloy ideal for fasteners.

It is also used in plate form for bridge bearing and expansion plates and other structural applications.

ASTM C65500

A silicon bronze CuSi3Mn1 which can be cold worked to enhance the mechanical properties. It is a high strength, engineering alloy that has excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosives, including fresh and salt water, most acids, alkalies, salts, and organic chemicals. However, it is not suitable for use with sulphides, nitric acid, acid chromates, or oxidizing salts such as ferric chloride. The alloy conforms to ASTM B 96 C65500 and ASTM B 98 C65500.
