Equivalent Specifications
BS 1400 CMA1
ASTM B 505 C95700
ASTM B 148 C95700
Key Features
This alloy was mainly developed for the marine propeller industry, where its resistance to erosion and cavitational corrosion exceeded other aluminium bronzes. Has comparable strength and fatigue properties to some of the Nickel Aluminium bronzes but exhibits superior impact strength.
Typical Uses
Bearings or marine components requiring good sea water corrosion resistance, high strength and impact properties. Widely used for ship propellers and associated equipment such as shaft bearings and sleeves.

CC212E
A high manganese aluminium bronze containing 13% manganese, 8% aluminium and 3% iron and nickel. The alloy conforms to BS EN 1982-2008 CC212E CuMn11Al8Fe3Ni3-C. and can be manufactured to BS1400 CMA1 CuMn13Al8Fe3Ni3.
This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and can be used in acidic mine waters containing ferric chloride and also for sea water applications. It has high mechanical strength and also good resistance to oxidation at elevated temperatures.
