This alloy is ductile and can be cold worked. It is normally manufactured in the form of tube plate to be used in water condenser system, pressure vessels and heat exchanges.
The alloy is also used for bearings and expansion plates for bridges and other structural applications.

A German low alloy Aluminium Bronze CuAl8Fe3,(AlBz8Fe). This is a medium strength aluminium bronze with the addition of 3% Fe which acts as a grain refiner and gives added strength. It can be supplied in the form of plate, rod, bar and forgings and meets several specifications DIN 17670-1 Plate, DIN 17673-1 Forgings and DIN 17672-1 Rod and Bar. The alloy also conforms to ASTM B 150/171 C61400, EN 12165/12420, EN 1652/1653 CW303G and BS2875 CA106.
