AMS 4827
AMS 4827 has excellent machining properties, medium strength and good corrosion resistance and will withstand mild acids as found in mine water applications. Bearings manufactured from AMS 4827 exhibit excellent wear resistance under conditions of high speed, heavy pressure and high vibration environments. AMS 4827 is a self-lubricating leaded bronze with low friction and can be used where lubrication is less than adequate and there may be minor misalignment. AMS 4827 bearings require a hardened shaft and maximum shaft surface speeds of 4 m/sec can be tolerated. Comparable alloys include BS 1400 LB2, ASTM B 505 C93700, ASTM B 271 C93700, ASTM B 584 C93700, AMS 4842, AMS 4827, SAE J461, SAE 64, QQ-C-390, AS1565 C93700.
