KEY FEATURES

  • Incredibly high electrical and thermal conductivity

  • Moderate Strength

Extreme Material Technology Oxygen Free High Conductivity Copper

Thermalloy C101 is a high purity oxygen free copper, having incredibly high thermal and electrical conductivity – 101% IACS. The only metal with a higher conductivity is pure silver at 105% IACS, but this is expensive, and the increased conductivity is marginal.

It is a wrought alloy, having a fine uniform grain structure.

The manufacturing process route induces moderate strength and hardness for structural applications and the hardness allows for easier machining compared with conventional pure copper.

The low oxygen content allows operations such as brazing and soldering to be performed with complete absence of hydrogen embrittlement.

It is designed for applications where high thermal or electrical conductivity is the most important factor.

It is supplied as raw material or finished components in the stress relieved condition for dimensional stability.

Inspection and Certification

Full chemical analysis performed on every cast to ensure compliance.

Each batch (same size/same cast/same process-run) is mechanically tested to ensure compliance with minimum mechanical property requirements, which exceed the generic specification requirements.

100% ultrasonic inspection as standard - most test standards and acceptance criteria can be accommodated. Certification provided as standard in both wet-signed and electronic form (soft-copy) in accordance with EN 10204 type 3.1. 3.2 Certification can also be provided.
